“Key Considerations When Choosing Life Insurance For Cryonics” – By Chris Morgan
Over the last 14 years, I’ve met literally hundreds of people in the UK interested in taking out Life Insurance to fund their Cryopreservation agreements. Some of the key considerations when taking out Cryonics are Currency Fluctuation, the Effects of Inflation and Trust Arrangements.
In the coming weeks I plan to share with you important information that is relevant to people who are based in the UK and are taking out Life Insurance for Cryonics. If you would like any more information you are very welcome to contact my office for an appointment to discuss your circumstances in detail.
Advice & Recommendation
Cryonics Membership is one of the biggest and most significant financial decisions you will make in your lifetime. It is most definitely a considered purchase with total costs of somewhere between buying a new car and buying a home. Some of the financial issues are complex and you should seek Advice and Recommendation from a qualified financial adviser before making a decision.
Currency Fluctuations
Those taking out Life Insurance for Cryonics in the UK will be taking their policy in pounds sterling, so it is important to consider any potential currency fluctuations between the Pound, Dollar and Euro – this of course depending on the geographical location of the Cryonics provider that you choose for your preservation.
Inflation Linking
Inflation is a very topical issue at this moment and one which could have serious implications to the future values of your policy. All UK Life Insurance companies offer the opportunity to index link your policy, this is either in line with the retail price index, or at fixed rates – but their products differ greatly and most definitely take advice on this issue.
Trust Arrangements
All of the Cryonics providers will require that you place your life insurance policy into trust so that the benefits are paid out directly to them. This is to make certain that your final wishes are carried out in a timely way – Cryopreservation needs to be carried out immediately upon your passing, so it is important to make sure all of correct legal paperwork is in place.
Capitalisation
When recommending life insurance providers we only recommend Life Insurance Companies who are regulated in the UK and have sound financial standing and solvency. These are all household names that are well known and trusted in the UK.
We also strongly recommend that you check that your Cryonics Provider has a sound financial capitalisation and operates a sustainable trading model. Most providers do publish their annual accounts, which will show their capitalisation and latest trading position.
