Commentary By Chris Morgan
Earlier this month the UK newspaper The Telegraph featured the subject of Cryonics and Life Insurance. The article was very well written and included interviews with Tim Gibson from Cryonics UK, Dr. Max More, The Chief Executive of Alcor Life Extension Foundation and Dennis Kowalski, The President of the Cryonics Institute.
Chris Morgan, the lead financial Adviser from Unusual Risks, was also interviewed about the financial planning issues around Cryonics.
Here are some extracts including Chris’s quotes from the interview.
“Chris Morgan, a financial adviser at Unusual Risks, is Britain’s resident expert in cryonics financial planning.
“Over the last 18 months, demand has come from younger people”, said Mr Morgan. “The average age has shifted from those in their 40’s to people in their 30’s and I now have a 20 year-old looking for Life Insurance for cryonics”.
The entry level for cryopreservation is the Cryonics Institutes’s lifetime membership package the total cost is about £50,000.
“However, inflation and currency fluctuations meant customers needed to insure themselves for more, said Mr Morgan. life Insurance plans of between £60,000 and £200,000 are typically required (depending on which Cryonics provider you are planning to use)”
